Ted 's Story

BROUGHT UP IN THE BEAUTIFUL COUNTRYSIDE OF SOUTH LOUISIANA, TED HAS EXPERIENCED THE VISUAL BEAUTY OF THE OLD CAJUN HOUSES, COTTON GINS, GRAIN BINS AND SO MANY OTHER STRUCTURES THAT EXEMPLIFY THIS AREA.  NOW HE IS CONSTANTLY ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THE REMAINING PLACES AND THE VIEWS THAT CREATE AN APPEALING COMPOSITION THAT WILL LEAD TO A PAINTING THAT CAN BE SUMMARIZED AS SOMEWHAT ‘EXPRESSIONISTIC’.  COLOR AND CONTRAST FOR THE PAINTING ARE NEXT IN LINE WHEN IN THE ACTUAL PROCESS OF PAINTING THE SCENE.  “THERE IS A CERTAIN JOY IN THE PROCESS OF PAINTING THESE PIECES AND KNOWING THAT OTHERS ARE ENJOYING THE PAINTINGS AS WELL.”

TED'S WIFE, AVA, HAS BEEN A STRONG SUPPORTER AND IS INVOLVED IN THE DECISION MAKING OF THE GALLERY IN SUNSET, ALL WITH MUCH APPRECIATION FROM TED.

HIS PAINTINGS HAVE BEEN SHOWN IN THE  LAFAYETTE ARTWALK SCENE AT PLACES SUCH AS GALLERY 549, LAFAYETTE ARTISTS CO-OP, CREATIONS BY FIRE AND CAJUN SPICE.  OTHER VENUES INCLUDE GRAND COTEAU BISTRO, NU NUS IN ARNAUDVILLE AND THE NICHE IN EUNICE, THE FRAME HOUSE AND GALLERY IN LAKE CHARLES AND  THE HISTORIC WASHINGTON ART GALLERY IN WASHINGTON, LA.
